Here's the order of worship and the podcast of the worship service I led in Brilliant (Ohio) United Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

OBSERVATION OF THE NEW DAY’S GRACE

*OUR CALL FOR WORSHIP: Psalm 149

Leader: Praise the Lord!

People: Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful.

Leader: Let Israel be glad in its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

People: Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.

Leader: For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.

People: Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their couches.

Leader: Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

People: To bind their kings with fetters and their nobles with chains of iron, to execute on them the judgment decreed.

Leader: This is glory for all his faithful ones.

People: Praise the Lord!

*HYMN

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Gracious God, we confess that we’ve sinned against you. Although we’re surrounded by conflicts and divisions, we fail to appreciate the damage they do to our communities and congregations. As a result, instead of working toward resolution and reconciliation, we remain still and silent.  Merciful Lord, forgive us, and give us the courage and insight to confront the divisions we face. Amen.
