Dear Prayer Team Member,

It is worth noting that Jesus gave two gifts to his disciples when he appeared to them after his resurrection. His first words: "Peace be to you," and he "breathed on them" and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." In those moments he dissipated the fear that paralyzed them after his crucifixion and provided the power and presence of the Holy Spirit gifting them with the boldness they would need to carry the good news of God's salvation to the world.

Now when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were together due to fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and *said to them, “Peace be to you.” And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side.
