#GodWantsHisPeopleBack #LoveLikeJesus

Life Support Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Team Member,

The numbers of people of all ages falling ill with the Covid 19 virus are rising almost everywhere. Again our hearts are touched by the stories of families unable to be with their loved ones as they face death quarantined in a hospital. I know some of you reading this post believe that mandates to wear masks, calls for social distancing, and orders restricting numbers in gatherings (including worship) are attempts to limit our Christian freedom. Some of us in high-risk categories have been worshipping online since March and we sorely miss the fellowship, the hugs, the enhanced power of the Spirit we feel when we gather together. And, we may feel guilty for not attending in person too. But folks, God wants to preserve the lives of his children! He has made a way through the Holy Spirit to be with every one of us in our own home and we are even united with those who have died and gone before us! We are so blessed, can we not yield our druthers for a time to preserve lives? It is so much less than Jesus has done for us! Let us be thankful, sing our songs alone for a time, worship the only One who is worthy, and be grateful for the technology that allows us to gather in community and to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families near and far even as we feast in small groups apart.

Isaiah 43:7,
I John 4:20-24 (MSG)

I want them back, every last one who bears my name,
    every man, woman, and child
Whom I created for my glory,
yes, personally formed and made each one.’”

If anyone boasts, “I love God,” and goes right on hating his brother or sister, thinking nothing of it, he is a liar. If he won’t love the person he can see, how can he love the God he can’t see? The command we have from Christ is blunt: Loving God includes loving people. You’ve got to love both.

1. Confess the ways we have selfishly put our “rights” to gather or to be in public places without a mask above the health and well-being of the most vulnerable.

2. Pray that God will move the hearts of his people with compassion for those in need. Pray for help to see the suffering and need of the weak and poor, the aging and sick, the helpless and dependent.
