The prayer will lament the suffering of the people as ceasefire agreements have been broken, and particularly lift up the plight of refugees and internally displaced persons facing grave challenges. Women, children, and people with disabilities are becoming increasingly vulnerable. Those gathered to pray will focus on the families of those who lost their loved ones and healing for those who are injured. The prayer will also thank God for the work of specialized ministries and ecumenical partners working and living in Sudan. The prayer—one for sustainable peace and reconciliation in Sudan—is a response to requests from the Sudan Council of Churches and religious leaders in Sudan and across the world.
