Breaking News: Volcano erupts in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo; Several AME Churches Destroyed

Breaking News: AME Members in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo Attacked

On May 22, Mount Nyiragongo near the city of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo erupted. The subsequent lava flows have burned several villages and killed at least 15 people and the city of Goma under an evacuation order due to concerns of impending future eruptions. According to Bishop Wilfred J. Messiah of the 17th Episcopal District, at least two AME Churches have been burned and dozens of members have completely lost all their possessions in fires.  Members in Rwanda have also been impacted by violent earthquakes and aftershocks because of the volcano. Please be in prayer for the persons impacted by these natural disasters.
