#Cry4Mercy #Pray4ppl

Life Support Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Team Member,

We often hear leaders inside and outside the church confessing our sins of devaluing others based on race or gender or age or salary or...fill in the blank. It is right and good to repent of those sins, but rarely do we hear a confession of the sin of assigning an entire group of people to death because of their stage of development, or their location in the womb. Yet, more human beings die because they are devalued in the womb and aborted than for any other cause, disease, or violent act on a daily or annual basis. We ought to be crying out to God

Genesis 16:5-10

And Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done me be upon you. I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight. May the Lord judge between you and me.” But Abram said to Sarai, “Behold, your maid is in your power; do to her what is good in your sight.” So Sarai treated her harshly, and she fled from her presence.

Now the angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from and where are you going?” And she said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” Then the angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority.” Moreover, the angel of the Lord said to her, “I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count.”

October 25-31, 2020

1. . Confess on behalf of our nation our participation in slavery and the lingering attitudes of racial prejudice. Confess that the same principles of de-valuing a group of people lead us as a nation to participate in the slaughter of the unborn through abortion.

2. Pray for a spiritual awakening in our nation and in our churches so that hearts will turn to God with weeping for the ways we have disregarded all the lives of those we have considered sub-human.
