Gov. Jim Justice
Wednesday is a Day of Prayer in West Virginia and Gov. Jim Justice is inviting all West Virginians to participate.
Justice announced the day and ceremony on Monday during his press briefing on the COVID-19 outbreak. He said there is a need for prayer more than ever right now.
“In my world, I look to God every single day. But if there is any time that is a special time that we really need to all be looking to God, it’s in this situation. A pandemic that’s nothing like any of us have ever witnessed,” Justice said on Tuesday’s MetroNews ‘Talkline.’
“We are going to ask people to surely take time to say their prayers in their homes,” Justice said. “We are going to try and stream as much of the service as we possibly can to them.”Justice, a devout Christian, said the day will be for all families, businesses, and religious leaders in the state facing challenges with the virus. It will be streamed online at noon as part of his media briefing.
“We surely to goodness want to look to God to pull us through this terrible situation we are dealing with right now.”
Not many details have been released about the day but Justice said there will be religious leaders and song streamed from the Capitol.
Justice issued a statewide stay at home order on Monday that went into place on Tuesday evening.
